Well, apparently only bad news was written in the stars for The Secret Circle. The CW cancelled the ailing show about a coven of teenage witches. In addition to The Secret Circle, The CW also cancelled Sarah Michelle Gellar’s thriller Ringer. I guess we’ll never know more about dark magic or evil twins. Sigh.

It’s highly likely the CW’s show Ringer will be cancelled after this season. The drama starring Sarah Michelle Gellar only garnered 1.1 million viewers on Tuesday night, failing to gain the 18-49 year old demographic with only a 0.4 rating.

No surprise really. The Secret Circle is The CW’s best performing new show — averaging 2.4 million viewers a week — just behind its sister show, The Vampire Diaries. That means more Faye, more Diana, more Melissa and more Nick not owning a shirt! Yay!

The Secret Circle is The CW’s new Thursday night companion to The Vampire Diaries. And rightfully so. Just like Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle is sexy, dark and filled with supernatural goodness. The characters from both series chill at a local grill, both shows have the same creators, both have a bad guy with a bad haircut (Elijah and Charles) and both shows are filmed in a moody, dreary light.
