Well, apparently only bad news was written in the stars for The Secret Circle. The CW cancelled the ailing show about a coven of teenage witches. In addition to The Secret Circle, The CW also cancelled Sarah Michelle Gellar’s thriller Ringer. I guess we’ll never know more about dark magic or evil twins. Sigh.

I don’t watch Ringer because, in my humble opinion, it’s a terrible show. And not terrible in a good way. BAD terrible. It has episode titles like “Oh Gawd, There’s Two of Them,” “Shut Up and Eat Your Bologna” and “What Are You Doing Here, Ho-Bag?”

Good news lovelies. There’s plenty more witchy tricks coming our way! The Secret Circle has been given a full season order!
No surprise really. The Secret Circle is The CW’s best performing new show — averaging 2.4 million viewers a week — just behind its sister show, The Vampire Diaries. That means more Faye, more Diana, more Melissa and more Nick not owning a shirt! Yay!

First let me say, dear CW, thank you. For some time I have been begging for a new witch show. Something like The Craft. Something with some mystery. Something with a better production value than Ringer. You have answered my call! Thank you.
The Secret Circle is The CW’s new Thursday night companion to The Vampire Diaries. And rightfully so. Just like Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle is sexy, dark and filled with supernatural goodness. The characters from both series chill at a local grill, both shows have the same creators, both have a bad guy with a bad haircut (Elijah and Charles) and both shows are filmed in a moody, dreary light.
