Move over Serena van der Woodsen, The CW’s bringing another fashionista to Manhattan! Deadline is reporting that Candace Bushnell’s The Carrie Diaries may be adapted into a television series for The CW. That means more Carrie Bradshaw!

HBO and The CW both belong to Time Warner, and since The CW is all about teen shows, a pitch for the series is expected to be made to the network. Right now everything is in the preliminary stages.
But if the pitch happens and the show is a go, will Josh Schwartz be a part of the production? Will Amy Harris — former Sex and the City writer turned Gossip Girl writer — be brought on board as well? And who will play young Carrie Bradshaw? Young Samantha Jones?
I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see if The CW picks this one up. In the mean time we can ponder the tragic 80′s fashion the ladies will be bringing to the small screen. Ahem:

I hope we get to see more of this. Photo:Temptu
Oy vey. I’m not so sure I like this.
Do you think a Carrie Diaries TV show is a good fit for The CW? Would you watch? Who should play Carrie? Tell me in the comments!
UPDATE: The CW has picked up The Carrie Diaries.

I support it more as a tv show on the CW than as a movie prequel starring Selena Gomez and company.
Would Justin Bieber be Big in that scenario?
That’s what she said.
